Rick Hayward (b.1982) is a Meanjin (Brisbane) based artist translating two decades of traditional signwriting experience into a studio and public art practice, alongside varied commercial projects including Abstract and Typographic Murals, Traditional Sign Writing, and Gold Leaf Gilding. Employing traditional signwriting and woodworking techniques, Hayward's personal art practice considers the universal nature of existence, seeking to realise the union of the material and the spiritual through craftsmanship and presence of mind.
